Dear Customers,
With the start of the school year a scant two weeks away, those of you with school-age children are most likely frantically putting the finishing touches on back-to-school supplies and clothing! I certainly don’t miss those days! I guess there’s something to be said for being old.
But before we settle down into the routine of early bedtimes, homework and sporting activities we still have one last gasp to enjoy, making our summer vacation complete! I’m speaking of the McKean County Fair.
Commencing with the traditional tractor parade at 11am Saturday morning, August 9th and culminating with the ever-popular Demolition Derby at 6pm the following Saturday night, August 16th – it’ll be a week chock full of good times, good food and memories to last a lifetime.
Also, in August . . . any day now (if they haven’t already) practices will start in earnest for the following Fall-Autumn sports, football, volleyball, soccer, cross-country and golf. And of those five, the last three listed field teams for both boys and girls.
If your family is new to organized high school sports, you are in for a treat! (spelled “h-e-a-d-a-c-h-e”). Gone are dinner times, and any semblance of a family schedule. Most, if not all of these sports practice five or even six times a week – depending upon how “gung-ho” the coaching staff is!
It’s extremely difficult if not impossible to provide a hot, wholesome meal for the whole family what with practices, meets, games and matches. One sure fix is to either call or stop into Costa’s Deli. We have the best fresh dough pizzas, outstanding wings available in both breaded or un-breaded, and a full assortment of 12 inch subs and individual sandwiches. Our Krispy Fried Chicken is second to none and our hot foods case always has a dozen choices. One call direct to the deli at 814-887-9371 will put your mealtime prep into automatic mode.
