Dear Customers,
It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were joyfully noticing the lengthening hours of daylight back in the early days of March. Even though it happens every year, we somehow are surprised when it happens again! Now, here we are enjoying the final week of Daylight Savings Time prior to turning the clocks back this Sunday.
I was just empathizing with one of my employees this morning after she had mentioned that she doesn’t like going anywhere, preferring to stay in the comfort of her own home. I can completely identify with that sentiment, particularly when it starts getting cold and dark by 5pm! My absolute favorite thing to do of an evening, is to slide on my fleece-lined flannel “Jammie” pants along with a similarly cozy hoodie and take up residence on the couch!
My wife and I get the bulk of our TV watching done in the months between the beginning of November and the end of March. With streaming services these days, you can routinely pick between a couple of thousand binge-watchable series, movies, reality shows and comedy specials. If we have one problem with so many choices, it’s that we often start a series only to forget about it after a couple of episodes. By ‘forgetting it’, I don’t mean that we intentionally “write-it-off”, we just forget to keep watching it. Oh, the pleasures of old age!
There’s one more event in the offing before we say goodbye to October and hello to Eastern Standard Time. Halloween with all its inherent traditions, is scheduled for this Friday night. Trick or Treat, following its usual schedule, will be from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. If you happen to be driving, out and about during that designated time keep a watchful eye for ghouls and goblins that tend to dart out in front of your vehicle in their frenzied pursuit of sweets and treats!
