Love turns me into a blithering idiot! Lately, whenever I see something on television, the internet or even in print that depicts the warmer side of human nature, my throat constricts, and my eyes fill up with tears. It wasn’t always this bad, but it has undoubtedly gotten worse as I’ve aged. When I see something that causes this reaction in me and try to share it with my loving wife I invariably get the “what-is-wrong-with-you?” look!
Something about the month of December makes these occasions occur much more frequently. Maybe it’s the over-abundance of Hallmark movies, the fact that people are generally more kind, this time of year (don’t want to get on that naughty list) or just that human nature seemingly takes a turn for the better the closer we get to Christmas!
Over the next five weeks (including New Year’s) you will most likely have an increase in opportunities to entertain, or to be entertained. Entertainment, in this example, is a synonym for “FOOD”! Whether you’ve been invited to a Christmas or New Year’s party or if you’re hosting one of your own your guests will expect plenty of delicious, tasty treats – often of the dessert variety!
