A few weeks ago, I mentioned there were very few reasons to celebrate during the month of February. One of them was held yesterday in Super Bowl LVIII, (or “58” if you didn’t have Mrs. Hergenrother for Latin). The next one happens on Wednesday of this week and it’s for lovers, budding friendships that might lead to that first category, and spouses.
Having grown up in the 60’s and 70’s, I’m not familiar with the complicated jargon describing a “budding relationship” these days. I’ve been corrected, “no, we’re not ‘dating’ yet, we’re just ‘talking’! Or, in a question posed regarding one of my kid’s friends, “they’ve just started talking!”. I must admit to being confused by the various distinctions! In my day, if you asked a girl to the dance or a movie – you were dating! You knew it, she knew it, and so did everyone else!
With Valentine’s Day happening in mid-week this year, many couples (or prospective couples), probably won’t be able to go out for the evening to celebrate. That’s where Costa’s Supermarket can help. We’ll have a wide assortment of bouquets and the lover’s true favorite – the rose – on display for this mid-week holiday.
Maybe you can’t take your true love out to dinner or a movie this year because it interferes with the day-to-day schedule, but you can at least remind her (or him) that she is always in your thoughts and cherished every day. A single rose, a three pack, or maybe even a full dozen can say what you’re thinking and feeling despite the words that often escape you or go unsaid.
And if you’re really feeling romantic, nothing quite says “I love you” like a well thought out home-cooked meal! Pick up a couple of steaks, a bag of prepared salad and a couple of spuds for baking. You’ll make the day a huge hit with your thoughtfulness, and you’ll cover your romantic butt for yet another year!
